How Do I Say Goodbye?

Well, we are flying through January and for once I wish January would last forever.  And, if I'm  being honest today, I'm feeling a bit out of sorts.

We just found out that our oldest son and his family will be moving half-way across the country at the end of February and my heart is breaking.  I came very close to not even posting this week,  but decided after much crying, praying and more crying that this is what this blog is about.  Real life, which is down right ugly and unsettling at times.  What do you do when you get the wind knocked out of you and you can't catch your breath?
Well my friends, I can tell you what I'm doing... I'm giving my family to the one who knows all the emotions and sadness and fear that are running through my body at this very moment.  The older I get, the more I realize my need for God's unrelenting love and mercy in my life.  Sometimes there are just no answers to life's questions and when things don't go the way we would choose, we as christians have to make a decision.  Are we going to collapse under the pressure and just give in to the fear and anxiety that wants to keep us from true peace or do we say that God is always good in every situation and He knows what is best for us and our families and He is always in control?
I know that everyone will at some point in life have to answer this question and I'm here to encourage you that even when we can't see how God will bring good out of a situation,  we can say He is making all things new in his time and to focus on Him and not the situation.  The song that keeps running through my head is Good, Good Father by Chris Tomlin.  God is perfect in all of his ways and we can rest knowing that he will take care of our son, daughter-in-law and our sweet Grandsons too!  I'm forever grateful for my Savior and my prayer for you my friends is that whatever situation you are dealing with, God will fill your heart with his perfect peace!
Keep smiling through the rain;  the flowers will start to grow,
Heidi

You amaze me little sister with your strength and courage as you walk by faith. Thank you for the reminder of looking at God in all situations because he does give the only peace worth having in this world. My mind remembers an old church song. Through it all. I can hear daddy singing it now in his tenor voice. Your post was very up lifting!!!
