Lately I have been really thinking about where I want this blog to go and what I want it to be about. Since I am new to this whole blogging process, I have been reading and researching different ideas and ways to enhance my blog and make it something that will make my readers want to come back again and again.
I think back to when I launched Lilybeanandlilac and how excited I was to share projects and tips to help people with decorating and please don't misunderstand me, I truly love and have enjoyed sharing these projects with all of you, but what I have found to be even more fulfilling is the impact that all my fellow bloggers have made on me. I am truly amazed at the awesome people that I have met in this short time either through my blog, Instagram or Facebook. I am constantly in awe of your creativity and excitement for new projects and the steady feed of great ideas that come from such talented people. But the one thing that really stands out to me is your willingness to share from a very real place in your heart about your own journeys and struggles and willingness to be transparent! It's great to know that we all love to decorate, design, build or create in some way, but knowing that someone does not always have it all together or has gone through some challenging times and still chooses to get up each day and write an article about a new project, or a newly decorated front porch or just tell their story, is in my opinion, someone that I want to keep coming back again and again to see what they are saying.
There have been so many days when I have felt inadequate for trying to right a blog about farmhouse decor, or days when I feel I have no creativity left , but then I read a blog about someone who made a video for Chip Gaines and wants to build a round barn where people can come to connect and be a part of their community. Or someone who is struggling with infertility, but has helped so many people with her story that I am in tears. Or someone who shares that they worry that their house isn't photo worthy. This is the real stuff of life! The good, the bad and sometimes the ugly! It has made me realize how much having a blog about decorating does mean to me and the fact that it is pushing me out of my comfort zone and into a new direction and wanting to be real in the process. I am truly humbled that anyone would read my blog on a continual basis and my goal would be to always be real. I believe that God has given us all unique talents and has a plan for each and everyone of us . My wish for you, my readers is that you are always encouraged, uplifted and challenged by something you see on Lilybean and Lilac!
Here's to being real!
