I hope everyone is enjoying this fine summer weather. Summer is my favorite season, and I for one, hope it never ends! It has been so nice to be outside working in the garden or just relaxing on the porch. Of course the best part of summer is spending the day at the beach, which I will be doing this week. I can hardly wait to soak up the sun and hear the waves crash!!!
Have you ever started a good book and just can't put it down? The fun in turning one more page in anticipation of what's to come. Well today I have another direction that books can take you in... yes, you guessed it- decorating.
Hey guys! Hope all is well with everyone on this fine summer day! I'm so excited to share this special blog with everyone and hope it inspires you to get going on a fun summer project.
My friends, Susan and Steve asked for some help with their dining room redo and the results were a very refreshing, bright and happy room to share with family and friends. In the before pics you can see the room has a great window, beautiful chandelier (family heirloom) and solid furniture that just needed a little brightening up.
Well today is the day! The projects are done, at least these three! There are always more on the horizon but I wanted to share just what magic can happen with a little elbow grease and some paint! I hope you enjoy them and that they inspire you to find that special piece that is waiting out there for you. Just in case you forgot what they were in the beginning...
Has it been a particularly hard time for you lately? Sometimes life hits hard and fast and leaves you feeling a bit wounded. If you're not there now, I'm truly happy for you and maybe this post will come back to you at a time when you need it. For those of you who are at that hard point now, I would just like to encourage you to take some time to do something that makes you smile and relax.
Hello to all and welcome to what I would like to call today's post "treasure island" ...minus the island. I was recently invited to go shopping for treasure or as some would call it, thrift shopping. What a great time we had and I have since been to many more stores in my local area. Here is just a small sample of the items I found (including this great bench my friend found for me for $10).
Hello everyone! I thought I would share our kitchen remodel with you today.
I have always loved the change of seasons. The new beginning that each one brings and the sheer delight when I know that summer (my personal favorite) is in full swing! But first things first - Spring is definitely in the air! It's such a great time to start thinking about planting flower beds, spring cleaning the house and the view from your porch. I'm always excited for the first really warm afternoon when you can crank open the windows and feel the fresh air flooding our home. I'm hopeful that tomorrow's weather will allow for just that, but in the mean time I thought I would post a few pics of my spring decor. Enjoy!!
So excited to share a new find of mine today! Old mantels are mind melting for me! I just love the old chippy details and the history that is tucked into each curve and molding. I have been thinking of putting one in our bedroom, since we are going with the french country theme. I'm excited to see the character it will add to our room. Mantels can be a bit pricey, but as I was browsing in one of my favorite stores close to me, I discovered this beauty!
I have been in search of a new bed frame for sometime now. I've considered new, old and everything handmade. Can I just say, there are some incredibly creative people out there who have made some awesome beds!
Welcome! I'm Heidi Vagle.
Here I’ll be posting some of my vintage redos, farmhouse decor, painted projects and much more. Enjoy!
